Alfonso González

Biography

Dr. Gonzalez obtained the degree of Physician-Surgeon and the degree of Doctor in Cell Biology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC), did a post-doctorate at the New York University Medical Center and then his academic career at the Faculty of Medicine of the PUC, where he was Full Professor and recognized as Senior Scientist, with shared appointment in the Faculty of Biological Sciences. He was Presidential Chair in Science and President of Cell Biology of Chile, as well as researcher in Centers of Excellence FONDAP, MILENIO and BASAL FINANCING. In 2016 he moved to the Faculty of Medicine and Science of the San Sebastian University where he created the Center for Cell Biology and Biomedicine (CEBICEM) and a PhD in this area, which was accredited.
